"Take Me To Your Leader" focuses on trend watching in consumer behaviors, marketing, technology, and social media, but is often led astray by its eccentric authors and their love of music, traveling, random thoughts, and pirates.

They are all back up and running, apparently their agency Deep Focus convinced AMC to put it back up. If you ask me all part of the plan, the writers were too good to just be random people twittering about the show. I could be wrong though...

AMC is yet another classic example of a company whose paranoia exceeds its confidence and who continues to employ an unsustainable approach of controlling consumers instead of engaging them. For whatever reason, AMC feels inherently threatened. Perhaps it’s a loss of control, a culture of insecurity or just ignorance. Whatever the cause, there is a remedy. I would encourage the banned participants to constructively reach out to AMC and provide some perspective (wrapped within some much needed education). While AMC may choose to ignore the obvious (for now), they may also use the reach-out to better themselves and their extended community.

couldn't agree more. Alex Wipperfurth's, "Brand Hijack" goes into some great histories of where allowing the audience to take control and own your brand can really cut to the next level. PBR, Harley, and honda civic for example..

The biggest brands of all are called "Religion", and the reason why the Catholic numbers are sinking and the Christian numbers are rising is based on the very same principles.. imho baracks facebook tech powered intranet allowed his supporters to own his brand, and with a name like barack hussein obama he was still able to gather better brand equity than hillary rodham clinton.

digging the new blog. :)

I totally agree with you! I can't believe with all the buzz going on over twittering, social media, and community building that a brand would have the short-sight to take a course of action that could potentially lower their appeal. They could use a little SMM savy right now - a consultant or something!
